The hospital is open for visiting hours. Sin has a room to himself, more by good luck than good management. He managed to change into the clothes they brought him but his arm is strapped into a sling. He has a listless look, hair is lank and his skin callow. Frankly, he looks miserable.

Depending on when his visitors arrive, they may walk in on him having a rather uncomfortable conversation with a rather forceful doctor. A conversation Sin is clearly not interested in having. He’d very much welcome the distraction.

Dr. Fell enters, carrying a covered bowl.

[wanderingsin]

The young male doctor scowls at the intrusion. "We'll continue this discussion later." He says to Sin in a rather brash American accent and leaves the room.

Sin sags against the pillows, looking like he's on the brink of tears.

Dr. Fell puts the bowl down on the table.

"What's the problem?"

[wanderingsin]

Sin sits up with an effort. "A difference of opinions." He says, a little guardedly.

He forces a very watery smile. "I'm sorry, Dr. Fell. I hoped to invite you to share a night of music. And look at all the trouble I've caused."

"I don't mind at all," Dr. Fell says. "I had the music, and now I get to repay it."

[wanderingsin]

"That's very kind of you. You don't have to, you know?" But he is craning eagerly at the bowl. Hospital food is a terrible thing to happen to anyone. "But I am very grateful."

[cook_the_rude]

"I brought you a soup of black silkie chicken that will help you get stronger again," Dr. Fell says, smiling proudly at Sinric.

[wanderingsin]

"Such a delicacy." Sinric smiles, reaching out with his good hand to squeeze Dr. Fell's arm. "I'm honoured, thank you. Will you sit with me?"

He sits up a little further, wincing as his shoulder pulls and reaches to pull the tray table closer.

Dr. Fell serves the soup to Sin; it looks odd, as the meat is black through.

The silver spoon that comes with it is definitely not hospital issue.

Smiling, he sits in the hospital provided visitor's chair and crosses his legs.

Sin takes a moment to admire the soup, breathing in the scent of it. "An unusual dish? Is it your own creation?"

"Not really," Dr. Fell admits. "It's elevated Asian chicken soup, famed for its healing and strengthening properties."

[wanderingsin]

Sin tastes it delicately, appecation evident on his expression. "Oh!"

"Any good?"

[wanderingsin]

Sin's smile is warm and genuine and brights the gloom that has haunted him since his fall. "Dr. Fell, it is excellent!"

"I am very happy to hear that," Dr. Fell says.

And genuinely looks it.

[wanderingsin]

"I don't think I've ever tasted anything like it." He tries not to eat it too fast, savouring each spoonful. "You have a gift for cooking, Dr. Fell."

"I do my best, and aim to please," he says. "It's a hobby of mine."

[wanderingsin]

"Then I'm honoured. I'm afraid my own cooking is much more... basic. I tend to make things I can freeze for later."

[cook_the_rude]

"Oh, a good freezer is one of the most useful inventions ever," Dr. Fell says. "And worth spending money on."

[wanderingsin]

"I own very little but my landlady found an old freezer one of the tenants left behind and Ragnar got it running again. To be honest I found it hard to sleep without the humming noise it makes."

[cook_the_rude]

"It sings you to sleep, at home?" Dr. Fell says, smiling.

[wanderingsin]

"Just so." Sin returns the smile, his eyes warm. "I've sometimes wondered if I could use the bumps and hums and crackles in my work somehow. But I suspect I'd be the only one who find beauty in it."

[cook_the_rude]

"Of course it would be a brilliant idea," Dr. Fell says. "Industrial,sounds have been used as inspiration in experimental,music,for a while now; why not discover the more domestic beauty of singing refrigeration?"

[wanderingsin]

"Set to counterpoint of classical string, perhaps?" Sinric smiles. "I've never been very good at composing for precession instruments. Perhaps my freezer can provide me with the rhythms I need."

The young doctor from before looks in on them and scowls. "He shouldn't be eating that." He glares at Hannibal. "You should leave."

Sin shakes his head. "The other doctors haven't said anything about a controlled diet and there's another hour before visitors have to leave." There's a note of defiance to his tone.
